International Living and Learning Community (ILLC)
The International Living Learning Community (ILLC) grant is meant to provide an opportunity abroad for faculty and staff who are interesting in getting involved with international experiences and increasing their cultural competencies, but are unsure of how to get started. The ILLC is especially designed for faculty/staff who have little to no experience abroad, but is open to experienced travelers as well. The ILLC is a cohort of four faculty and one staff, along with two leaders. Participation in the ILLC entails attending four workshops during the Spring semester, attending a week-long in-country site visit in early May, and a workshop in September. The location for the site visit will vary year to year.
Staff are invited to apply after being nominated by their Vice President. International Experiences will work with the Vice Presidents regarding staff nominations, and then email the nominated staff the application link. The nomination and application process will occur in November-December. Each year a different division will be invited to submit nominations, so that divisions will take turns nominating staff.
