A renowned Christian author and theologian will give a lecture about his book, “The Love That is God: The Essence of Christianity,” tonight (Jan. 27) at Berry College.
The Berry College Chaplain’s Office welcomes Frederick Bauerschmidt to speak on his book at 7 p.m. in the Krannert Ballroom. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Bauerschmidt is a theology professor at Loyola University Maryland and a deacon of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, assigned to the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen and to the Basilica of the Assumption. He has a master’s degree from Yale Divinity School and a doctorate in religion from Duke University.
In his works, Bauerschmidt focuses on the interactions between theology and culture. Publishing over 50 journal articles and book chapters, his works include “Thomas Aquinas: Faith, Reason, and Following Christ” and “The Essential Summa Theologiae: A Reader and Commentary” His most recent work, “The Love That is God: An Invitation to Christian Faith,” won the 2023 Micheal Ramsay prize for theological writing.
