Consultants

Alex Nunziato is from Augusta, GA, and is double majoring in English and Psychology. She loves reading (especially fantasy), playing video games, and painting. Her favorite parts of the writing process are brainstorming creative ideas, creating outlines, and editing. She took RHW as a dual-enrollment class in high school.

Gabriel L’Heureux is a Creative Writing major with a minor in Women's and Gender Studies. He has lived in Georgia for several years but has a soft spot for his childhood home in Illinois. He loves spending time with friends and family, and he also loves reading and listening to music. His favorite part of the writing process is coming up with ideas and putting pen to paper, or, in most cases, hand to keyboard. Gabriel took RHW 102 with Dr. Jack Vespa.

Anna Rinaggio is an English and Spanish double major from Lexington, North Carolina. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, rewatching Brooklyn 99 and reading an absurd number of books (seriously, she read 40 this past summer). Anna’s favorite parts of the writing process include fine-tuning word choice and sentence structure and creating smooth transitions. She took Honors RHW 102 with Dr. Watkins.

Annalisse Mullineaux is a Biology major with a minor in Business from Jacksonville, Florida. She enjoys anything relating to nature and loves the horror genre. Her favorite parts of the writing process are research and organization; she strongly encourages the development of one’s own unique ideas and writing style. She took RHW 102 with Dr. King

Gail Sanders is a Communications major with a film concentration and a Religion minor from Lilburn, GA. She loves folk music, playing guitar and anything to do with Lord of the Rings. Her favorite part of the writing process is creating and organizing outlines. She’ll read pretty much anything fantasy related and loves to see how ancient texts impact modern literature. She took RHW 102 with Dr. Vespa.

Ellie Browne is a Creative Writing major with a Psychology minor from Gray, GA. She loves collecting crystals and trinkets, and is a big fan of Stranger Things, Billie Eilish, and all things music. Her favorite part of the writing process is editing and revising, especially when it involves commas. She enjoys spending time with her cat Loki, writing poetry, and advocating for mental health.

Harper Hinze is an English major from Houston, Texas. She enjoys drinking fancy coffee, twentieth century literature, and various outdoor activities. Her absolute favorite part of the writing process is connecting ideas and finding sources. She loves odd books and will chat with anyone about their particular favorites. Her current favorite authors are Oscar Wilde, Ray Bradbury, and Dazai Osamu.

Joseph Loh is a double major in English and Secondary Education from Cartersville, Georgia. In his free time, he enjoys creative writing, playing the piano, and watching movies/TV shows. His favorite book is Life of Pi by Yann Martel. Joseph's favorite part of the writing process is outlining and structuring paragraphs. He took RHW 102 with Dr. Watkins.

Larkin West is a Communications major with a film concentration and a Music minor from Orange Beach, Alabama. He enjoys playing jazz piano and talking about movies. Larkin’s favorite part of the writing process is structuring outlines. He took RHW 102 with Dr. Lossada.

Lauryn Zeo is an Exercise Science major with a minor in Psychology from Acworth, Georgia! She loves anything to do with the outdoors, and always considers summer her favorite season. In her free time, she loves going to the gym, hanging out with friends, and listening to Mac Demarco. Her favorite part of the writing process is revising after the first draft. She took RHW 102 with Dr. Adams.

Emma Washburn is an English major with minors in International Relations and German. She enjoys reading fantasy novels and spending time with her cat. Her favorite part of the writing process is organizing thoughts and research into an outline. She took Honors RHW 102 with Dr. Bucher.

Lily Verren is a Creative Writing major with a Music minor from Decatur, GA. When she's not daydreaming about her next short story, she loves to play the bassoon in the Wind Ensemble or sit down with her next favorite novel. Her favorite part of the writing process is organizing paragraphs and reading for a consistent style. She took RHW 102 with Dr. Bucher.

Lily Ruppert is a Communication major with a film concentration and a Business minor from Friendsville, Tennessee. She particularly enjoys sunbathing, watching RuPaul's Drag Race, or listening to any one of her 57 Spotify playlists (and probably making a new one). Her favorite parts of the writing process include refining sentences and word choice as well as strengthening arguments. She took RHW102 with Dr. Taylor.

Olivia Pope is a 3d year political science major from Evans, GA. She is planning to attend law school after Berry with hopes of becoming a prosecutor. She has a passion for ultra-marathon running and loves hanging out with friends. She loves finding ways to make writing better, without altering the unique voice of the author. She took RHW 102 with Dr. Lossada.

Princess Anderson is a Creative Writing major with a fiction concentration from Jonesboro, GA. She loves world building, digital drawing, and anything to do with Kirby or Cinnamoroll. Her favorite part of the writing process is the editing process and redefining the text in accordance with the thesis. She’ll mainly read anything having to do with fantasy and horror and will go into a tangent about how horror as a genre has evolved over time. She took RHW 102 with Dr. Lossada.

Sophie Caveney is a Vocal Music Education Major with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis from Kennesaw, GA. She loves listening to live music (usually jazz), singing in choir, playing piano, and watching Bluey. Her favorite part of the writing process is synthesizing and connecting key ideas or topics. She enjoys reading fantasy dystopian novels and comparing the concepts from those novels to realistic modern-day social structures. She took RHW 102 with Dr. Melissa King.

Mira Haneberg is an English and Religion & Philosophy major from Portland, Oregon. In her spare time, she loves thrifting, cooking, and hiking with her dog. She also collects knit sweaters and herbal teas. Her favorite part of the writing process is making final edits, refining word choice and sentence structure.

Tyler Howard is a Business Management Major with minors in International Affairs and Economics from Gadsden, Alabama. He enjoys board games, traveling, video games, and watching movies. His favorite part of the writing process is brainstorming ideas and structuring papers. He took RHW 102 with Dr. King.

Administrative Staff

Melissa King is the Director of the Writing Center and a Lecturer in the English, Rhetoric and Writing Department. She has taught First Year English and various literature courses for a couple of decades all over the US and abroad in Doha, Qatar. Her current scholarly work deals with the intersection of Illustration, Translation Theory, and Fairy Tale Studies.

Luke Vines is the Assistant Director of Academic Support. In this role, he teaches BCC100, and oversees the daily operations of the Academic Success Center and the Writing Center. His scholarly interests include adapting criticism so it's accessible to the general public, the relationship between the public and the academy, literary criticism composed within the long eighteenth century, and the epistolary form.
