Frequently Asked Questions
The Math Preparedness Assessment is up to thirty questions covering material from basic mathematics through pre-calculus and generally takes sixty to ninety minutes to complete. The assessment is online and can be taken at students’ convenience. After the first assessment attempt, individualized preparation and learning modules are available for students to refresh their knowledge and (re)learn concepts. After spending at least three hours in the adaptive preparation and learning modules, students can then take an additional preparedness assessment. Students have a total of 3 opportunities to complete the assessment (the initial one + 2 retakes).
Visit the Enrollment Forms page on the Admissions tab in VikingWeb. Access to ALEKS and your current ALEKS status is also found at the bottom of the page under the Students tab.
Berry College is excited to cover the cost of access to ALEKS Placement, Prep and Learning for twelve months. Students may purchase an extension if additional preparation is needed after the Berry-provided twelve month access period.
The Academic Success Center provides peer tutors who can help with ALEKS and the specific math areas it covers. Math faculty will hold student hours in the Math Grotto (MAC 348). Hours will be shared once the semester begins.
